Terms of Use
Last updated: July 4, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of coopcodes.com (the “Site”), operated by CoopCodes (“CoopCodes,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Informational purpose only — not legal advice
CoopCodes provides general information about backyard-chicken ordinances and related topics for educational purposes. It is not legal advice, and using the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Laws and local rules change, and rules such as HOA covenants can be stricter than city code. Always confirm current requirements with your city, county, or a qualified professional before making decisions. You are solely responsible for how you use the information.
Accuracy and “as is” disclaimer
We compile ordinance information from official municipal codes and public sources and show a “last verified” date on each page. We work to keep it accurate, but we make no warranty that it is complete, current, or error-free. The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Hatchery directory and rankings
Our hatchery scores and rankings are our editorial assessments, calculated from published business facts (such as minimum orders, breed counts, certifications, shipping policies, guarantees, and pricing). They are opinions, not endorsements or guarantees. Paid sponsorships, where they appear, are clearly labeled and do not affect ranking order or scores. Pricing and availability change; confirm current terms directly with each hatchery before ordering.
Affiliate and advertising disclosure
Some outbound links on the Site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you make a purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. The Site may also display advertising or sponsored placements, which are labeled. Affiliate and advertising relationships do not influence the ordinance data we publish or the methodology behind our hatchery scores.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy the Site’s data, or systematically download content, without our prior written permission.
- Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Site or its infrastructure.
- Misrepresent your identity, including submitting a hatchery listing claim you are not authorized to make.
Intellectual property
The Site’s content, compilation, design, and the underlying ordinance dataset are owned by CoopCodes and protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive license to view and use the Site for your own non-commercial purposes. You may not republish, redistribute, or resell the dataset or substantial portions of the content without our written permission.
Your submissions
When you submit information (such as an error report, a city request, or a hatchery listing claim), you represent that it is accurate and that you have the authority to provide it. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that information to operate and improve the Site, including verifying and publishing corrected listing details.
Third-party links
The Site links to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, products, or practices, and including a link does not imply endorsement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoopCodes will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any decision you make based on information from the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CoopCodes from claims arising out of your misuse of the Site or violation of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.
